Про місце

A secluded garden memorial on hospital grounds honours the earliest medical workers killed by radiation exposure.

The memorial stands on the grounds of St Georg Hospital, erected by the Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft to commemorate medical staff and researchers who died from radiation exposure. Early radiologists and laboratory technicians handled radioactive elements and apparatus without protective shielding. The stone lists victims across nations who lost limbs and lives advancing diagnostic science.

Living in the surrounding quarter means sharing daily routines with an active clinical campus rather than a museum district. The hospital park functions as a quiet transit space between residential streets, where long-term residents encounter medical history during ordinary walks. A large local network of private hosts provides temporary lodging across the city.
