The Heydar Mosque stands as the largest Islamic place of worship across the entire Caucasus region.

The complex occupies a prominent position in Binəqədi raion, holding status as the largest mosque in both Azerbaijan and the wider Caucasus. Commissioned under presidential decree by Ilham Aliyev, the structure honors former president Heydar Aliyev. Its construction created an expansive public religious site designed for major ceremonial gatherings rather than secluded worship.
