О месте

Regional air transit passes through a historic colonial airfield that connects the southern urban core to the rest of the country.

The airfield operates northwest of the municipal center in the Moyen-Chari Region, providing an essential air link for southern Chad. Established under French colonial administration, the facility originally carried the name Fort-Archambault Airport. Incoming personnel rely on this strip because long-distance ground travel through southern provinces remains difficult, making domestic flights the primary lifeline for freight and staff.

The airport shares its heritage with the founding of Sarh, created under colonial rule to settle workers returning from the Congo-Ocean Railway labor camps. Field workers based here today navigate an aviation hub with minimal commercial services. Cargo shipments and passenger arrivals require advance coordination with local operators, as scheduled connections remain limited across this southern transport corridor.
