Atatürk's Residence and Railway Museum: o que há por perto, como chegar e quando ir · 2026
Visitors in Ulus encounter the direct administrative roots of the national movement right beside active train platforms.
The railway management building at Ulus station became the central command post for the national movement before turning into a memorial museum.
The structure originated as the rail administration office during the construction of the Berlin to Baghdad railway line. Stationed inside the main rail complex in the Ulus quarter, it provided essential administrative space in a town with few formal state facilities. When Mustafa Kemal Atatürk arrived to organise resistance efforts, the property became both his domestic residence and military headquarters.

Rail authorities later converted the preserved station building into a public historic house and dedicated railway museum. Visitors inspect preserved domestic quarters and administrative offices that connect early railway expansion directly to the political history of the republic.
