Teatro Albéniz operates as a restored historic hall integrated into a modern hotel complex in central Madrid.

The hall opened in the Centro district as a dedicated venue for classical opera, ballet, and traditional zarzuela. Legal disputes forced the stage to shut down completely after a lengthy run of continuous productions. Rather than allowing redevelopment, local campaigners formed Plataforma Salvar el Teatro Albéniz. Lawyers Beltrán Gambier and Eva Aladro directed the courtroom battle that prevented the structure from disappearing.
