Het Kasteel stands in Spangen as the historic home ground of Sparta Rotterdam, defined by its surviving castle-style entrance building.

Stadion Spangen was designed by architects J.H. de Roos and W.F. Overeynder in the Spangen neighbourhood. The distinctive brick building with dual towers gave the ground its enduring nickname. While the stadium underwent comprehensive reconstruction under architects Zwarts & Jansma, the castle structure remained preserved. A complete pitch rotation shifted the historic facade from behind the goal to the sideline.

Grandstands define the matchday operations around the pitch. The Tonny van Ede Stand houses the team changing rooms, corporate boxes, and the central players tunnel.
