Santa Giulia anchors major indoor sports and large entertainment events on Milanese soil.

Arena Milano, also called PalaItalia Santa Giulia or Unipol Dome, stands as the largest indoor venue for athletics and entertainment in the metropolitan area. The facility provides dedicated seating alongside floor standing capacity for major live performances and international competitions. It anchors the broader urban regeneration of the Montecity-Rogoredo zone in the south-eastern sector.

The complex originated during the regional Winter Olympics bid, though municipal authorities committed to building the arena regardless of the hosting outcome. Development involved agreements between Risanamento, Lendlease, and Ogv Europe Limited, backed by state subsidies for rising building expenses. Competitive ice hockey tournaments inaugurated the rink before exterior work reached full completion.
