The airfield at Yundum stands as the only commercial air hub in the nation, handling all scheduled passenger traffic arriving from abroad. Constructed during the Second World War with pierced steel planking, the strip initially handled regional routes. Early international carriers relocated some operations to nearby territories with concrete runways before major renovation efforts modernized the facilities and airfield infrastructure.
