This border peak forms an integral part of the Neblina massif along the international boundary. Geographers classify the mountain as a secondary summit to Pico da Neblina, yet the crest ranks behind only its neighbour among Brazilian summits. Most mountaineers arrive here as an extension of expeditions targeting the taller adjacent peak, crossing the connecting saddle rather than organising an independent ascent from the lowlands.
