Biratnagar Airport: ինչ կա շուրջը, ինչպես հասնել և երբ գնալ · 2026
Commuters flying across Koshi Province rely on the regional terminal, where seasonal monsoon flooding and expansion disputes can suddenly ground domestic schedules.
A major domestic aviation hub for Koshi Province handles heavy commuter transit across eastern Nepal while navigating expansion plans.
The airfield ranks among the busiest domestic transit points in the country, trailing only the primary hubs of Kathmandu and Pokhara. Operating since the late fifties, the terminal connects Morang District and the wider Koshi Province to the rest of the nation. Regular flights carry business travellers, government workers, and residents across eastern Nepal without relying on overland highway routes.

Infrastructure upgrades aim to elevate the complex to international standards through runway expansion. These development projects have faced local demonstrations over land acquisition compensation disputes. Operations also remain vulnerable to heavy monsoon rains, which previously flooded the airfield runway and forced aviation authorities to halt all flight traffic until floodwaters receded.
