Kukeldash Madrasah remains an active centre of religious education amidst the central bazaars of Tashkent.

The madrasah stands in the historic core of Tashkent as a preserved Shaybanid monument constructed under the ruler Dervish Sultan. Its massive portal faces the trade lanes of the Old Town, keeping its educational role as a functioning Islamic school while allowing visitors into the courtyard between active study and prayer hours.
