July ...the hottest time, without a doubt. Beyonce, Jay Z. For me, this couple is the gold standard of relationships and wonderful musicians. On July 7th, I was lucky enough to attend their concert in Baltimore, but let's take things in order! After my birthday, which went great, I didn't know what to do with myself or where to go with friends for a week, and then I saw online that they were organizing a US tour called "On the run". After Googling a bit more information, we didn't think twice and went to the student center that organized such trips, and "Hallelujah", a couple of days later we were sitting at the Beyonce, Jay Z concert at MTBankStadium, which holds over 70,000 spectators, and it was completely packed; I had never seen such excitement in my life. It was simply unreal: the show, the fans who danced to every song for two and a half hours. It felt like I was at the biggest party of my life, helicopters occasionally distracted my attention, twilight had already turned into night, but the concert was only gaining momentum. I was just happy that day, despite everything; in those hours, only one thing existed for me: just this concert. How I didn't want it to end. Waking up at 6 AM, I set my alarm for 5 minutes later again, then 5 minutes later again, and again. At 7, I jumped up and realized with a shout that I was almost late for the bus for the trip to Washington and the football match between Manchester United (MU) and Inter. My cell phone shows July 23rd, and I thought that I had been in the States for exactly 2 months, but had seen very little so far. But a couple of seconds later, this thought flew away somewhere and common sense prevailed; that's right, I went to brush my teeth and quickly get ready for the bus. Taking my bike, I pedaled with all my might, and only then did I really wake up. After going over another bump, I realized that I could easily ride without using my hands. Although a month and a half ago, after an incident, I was thinking about giving my bike to someone and walking. I made it on time, took my seat, and greeted my new acquaintances; by that time, I was already familiar with students from almost every country in Europe (well, if you asked everyone where they were from), who were also mostly going to the MU-Inter match rather than the Washington tour. After 3 hours of riding in sleep mode, we were already walking through museums that stretched along the main avenue of Washington. "A very beautiful and interesting city in terms of its architecture," I caught myself thinking for the umpteenth time, entering the Lincoln Memorial, having visited the height of the Monument, from which, by the way, you can see both the White House in all its glory and the Pentagon, just like in the movies; in the distance, I even made out Georgetown, or so it seemed to me. In any case, this city shows the fullness of the architectural and cultural heritage of the American people. Enriched and charged with positive energy for the whole day, closer to 6 PM our bus headed towards the stadium called "FedExField stadium". Rooney, Nani, De Gea, Chicharito, and even Vidic, who had already moved from MU to Inter by that time, I had only seen all these football players exclusively on TV, and now I am sitting in a stadium with an audience of 61,736 football fans just like me, and I am just happy and enjoying the game. Since this was a kind of non-decisive game, the teams didn't really go on the attack, they defended more, only Manchester's counter-attacks made the audience stand up. The game came to an end, and I thought that the 0-0 score was the end of the game, but after the final whistle, people didn't go home, they stayed in their seats. That's when I wondered why I was the only one who stood up and immediately sat back down, waiting for something, not understanding what would happen next. And then everything is simple, according to the rules of the Guinness Cup, if the score remains a draw, the teams start a penalty

Wandering the roads, or the war for a parking spot!)

August 22nd Our next destination was Arlington Cemetery, since Jen and I decided that some famous people might be buried there) And that's when the fun began))) At first, I gave the right directions, but then I had to think fast, and I just blurted out a random direction - we need to go there!))) As a result, instead of arriving at the cemetery, we ended up in the city of Arlington, Virginia. From there, we somehow got onto the highway and drove to the Pentagon, and then took some back roads to reach the cemetery) It started raining, so we decided not to get out of the car))) By the way, you're not allowed to take photos of the Pentagon, and only later, while looking through my photos, did I see a picture of the Pentagon and, confused, tried to remember when I managed to do that) It turned out I was just taking pictures of everything from the car)))))))) Then we decided to go to Georgetown again, where we had already been one evening)))) The weather cleared up completely, but there were issues with parking)))) We looked for a spot for a veeeery long time, and eventually found one, although it was on the other side of the street. Jen, tired of searching, shouted, "I don't care! This is my parking spot!" and somehow crossed the road and parked facing the opposite direction of the other cars))))) "Jen, maybe you should park properly, I'm kind of scared to leave the car like this! Someone might tow it to the impound lot." Jen thought about it! "Alright, but you, Tanya, stand in this parking spot and don't let anyone in!!!" I stood in the parking spot, and Jen started to turn around!) What a mess that was! Someone wanted to park, and I started saying that it was our parking spot! When Jen saw it from the car, she turned around 10 times faster))) It caused a traffic jam))) Having parked successfully, we took off, leaving the other drivers to sort out the situation))) While walking along the waterfront, we met a ship captain who does half-hour water tours))) He was trying to get people to ride, but we didn't want to pay) "Ladies, would you like a ride?" - "Only if it's free!" - "Well, I'm inviting you))) Of course, for free)" I was totally shocked, what a day) Departure was in half an hour, so we went for a walk and admired the beauty of Georgetown)) I was amazed by 4 large women who turned on music on their yacht, drank wine, and danced)) Good for them, they were having a blast!))) We got to talking with the captain, and it turned out he was from Ghana, used to work as a captain on cruise ships, but now he started his own business))) Overall, I liked it, Washington is a veeeery beautiful city after all)))))) Quite tired and exhausted, Jen and I decided to spend the rest of the evening on the roof, and Jen had to drive back to Wilmington in the evening. We bought ice cream in the Mexican district and went to James's house))))

Embankment...

August 20th After getting home, I had an idea to go to a club) After all, I don't go to Washington every day) But the only club nearby was a gay bar) They would have let me in, of course, but I'd have to pay!) And my budget is veeery strictly accounted for) But I wanted to go so baaad))))))) Not this time, maybe next time!) Plus, James suggested going to Georgetown) For those who have never been to Washington, and for those who have, let me remind you that Georgetown is not a city, as one might think from the name, but a neighborhood in Washington)))))) So, we took a taxi to Georgetown (oh right, it turns out I also got to ride in a taxi!)))))), and went to the waterfront!) That's where I was surprised—no, not just surprised, I was amazed to the depths of my soul!) A gorgeous fountain, bars, everyone looking so beautiful, guys dressed neatly in shirts, stylish, fit girls in heels)))))) Sigh))) And you could hear conversations and laughter everywhere))) And on the waterfront, there were yachts, parties on yachts))) A view of the Lincoln Memorial, and planes flying by too))) We decided to go into a bar; it didn't matter to me whether I drank or not, I just wanted to sit somewhere))) Then James drops this: "Okay, Tanya, you're my stepsister from Russia, you don't speak English very well, and I just decided to show you the city")))))))))) I almost fell over laughing))) What kind of stepsister))))))))))))) I only managed to say "...huh?...", to which James said admiringly, "There, perfect)))) Just like you don't understand well")))) So we went into that bar, found a cool spot with a view of the waterfront, and sat there talking)) I laughed so much that evening that my cheeks were hurting by the end))) Later, while passing by a yacht with the iconic name Dr.J, Washington, DC, I met the owner, who didn't want to let us go at all))) "Girls, we have the whole night ahead of us! Relax on my yacht, everything in the bar is yours") But we quietly slipped away without drawing any attention))))) And when I got home, I fell into such a deep sleep that when I woke up the next morning, I didn't immediately realize where I was!) No wonder)))))))
