À propos du lieu

Cuquenan Falls drops directly from the sheer sandstone cliffs of Kukenan Tepui into the river basin below.

The waterfall forms a continuous vertical plunge from the top of the plateau, trailing only Angel Falls among national cascades in total descent. Water drains directly across the summit tableland before tumbling down the vertical sandstone escarpment. The falling torrent shifts with seasonal rainfall patterns, transitioning between heavy mist columns and powerful open streams.

At the lower section, the primary free leap disperses across the rock face and trickles toward the base of Kukenan Tepui. Field teams operating in the surrounding basin face isolated wilderness conditions where all supplies arrive on foot. Daily routines revolve around changing cloud cover, unpredictable river surges, and complete reliance on backcountry logistical planning.
