Sobre el lugar

Major healthcare corporations and music studios shape the local economy behind the neon fronts of Lower Broadway.

The city operates as the commercial capital of country music, anchoring major record labels, publishing houses, and recording studios along Music Row. Beyond entertainment, healthcare management forms the largest regional industry, headquartering major hospital operators alongside automotive and financial corporate offices. Daily life for long-term workers revolves around these commercial campuses rather than the tourist bars downtown.

Living here exposes a clear divide between downtown entertainment corridors and residential districts. East Nashville concentrates coffee houses and local stages around Five Points, while Germantown anchors neighborhood dining. Public transit runs primarily toward a central hub with limited night schedules, and commuter trains run only on weekdays. Wide residential sprawl lacks sidewalks, making a private car essential.

Regional food traditions center on cayenne fried chicken, barbecue, and meat-and-three diners. Cultural landmarks range from the full-scale Parthenon replica in Centennial Park to the historic Ryman Auditorium. Safety conditions require attention after dark, particularly in northern districts such as Bordeaux and along the avenues directly south of the downtown tourist strip.

The first serious trip out of the resort town

Letter from August 4th. Sender: Anastasia Lebedeva (me), Daytona Beach, Florida, USA Recipient: Yulia Keda, Kazakhstan Hello! Sorry I haven't written in a while. Everything is great here! Work is in full swing. The guys are fun, constantly joking and teasing each other. And our manager Jimmy is a real specimen for research. The manners and gestures—you should see them! As for the weather, something strange has started happening. Florida is called the Sunshine State. Yeah, right! The rainy season started in August, so Daytona Beach has literally been drowning in daily afternoon downpours. Two umbrellas have already broken from the wind. We ride bikes to work, so all we can do is pedal faster to avoid getting soaked to the bone. Now for the pleasant stuff. But... Before all this there’s only one thing you should know…. Last weekend we flew to Nashville, Tennessee. The Creed concert was amazing! The emotions are off the charts. We loved it, and the photos turned out great too! The most interesting part is that they performed their best songs: starting with With arms wide open and ending with the new ones! Of course, we still had time to see the city. Nashville is called the capital of country music. Musicians play in every diner here, and most locals wear cowboy hats and boots. We decided to try some local food. We had a list of inexpensive diners beforehand. But honestly, we didn't really like it—they served us a dish with an interesting name, but brought us plain macaroni and cheese plus a glass of some strange liquid. But hey, it was a "local experience"! That's how things are. Say hi to everyone for us! We miss you and look forward to meeting up. P.S. We have one more amazing piece of news. But I won't tell you yet. I'll write in the next letter.
