Sobre el lugar

Engineered with wooden beams to prevent seasonal Balkan mud, Calea Victoriei defines the pedestrian and cultural spine of the capital.

The corridor began as a trade route toward Transylvania before ruler Constantin Brâncoveanu surfaced the path with timber planks. Known as Podul Mogoșoaiei, the wooden decking kept carriages clear of seasonal mud and connected central monasteries with the ruler country estate. The thoroughfare introduced nighttime candle illumination and cobblestones before taking its current name after the independence conflict.
