Day two. So, we had one more day left in L.A. We spent the first part of the day on our car. The thing is, one tire had worn down from the long drive, and we needed to replace it urgently. We decided to go to the Mexican district and find an inexpensive repair shop there. Analeigh, as always, left somewhere in the morning, leaving us alone. While my brother and I went to fix the car, the girls went shopping somewhere. Since we were staying right in the center, the shops were close by. So, we went to the Mexicans to change the tire. We found a place to do it without any problems. They changed one tire for us for 20 dollars. After that, we wanted to go shopping. We went to our girls who were at the Beverly Center – a large clothing supermarket in Beverly Hills. Analeigh was there too. Since the prices were quite low for California, we decided to buy some things for ourselves and spend some time there. After 2 hours, I realized that I had already spent 300 dollars on clothes and decided to call it quits. I picked up my brother and the girls, and we went to Santa Monica beach one more time, and then home. At home, Analeigh invited us to go out for dinner in Hollywood. Of course, we agreed. We decided to take our car, since so many people wouldn't fit in Analeigh's car (it was a huge mess in there). I got behind the wheel. To be honest, it was a bit difficult for me to drive around Los Angeles; it's a very big city after all. Everyone was cutting me off, honking at me, and I was nervous. And here I was, having volunteered to drive us all to Hollywood. On the way, I almost hit other cars twice, to which Analeigh reacted completely calmly. We had dinner at a pretty decent retro restaurant in the center of Hollywood, near the Walk of Fame. Analeigh paid for all of us, even though I asked her not to. But the bill was quite small – about 100 bucks. Later, when we were already returning home and standing at a crosswalk, some people recognized Analeigh and asked her if she acted in movies. She replied that yes, she does. It felt so good to know that we had a Hollywood star sitting in our car, even if she was just starting out. That's how our stay in L.A. ended. There was very little time, very little. Later, my brother and I went for a night walk around downtown and went to sleep, as we had to drive further to San Francisco in the morning. Los Angeles, like any other big city, has its drawbacks. But it was very pleasant to drive on roads that I had previously only seen in movies.

Hello, my name is Lina. Im 19 years old. I want to tell you why I decided participate in this program. Listening to their music encouraged me to study the language better and better in order to understand the meaning that the author put into his song. So, having learned about this program, which provides an opportunity to visit America, and also with benefit, I happily decided to use it. It is this program that provides an opportunity to meet people from your country with common goals and interests and to make friends. These people give each other support and advice, which is really important when taking such an important step in your life. In addition, the employees of the center of the international center provide quality advice and become assistants throughout the process of this program, therefore, thanks to this, you can feel much more relaxed and confident in your actions. Preparing for a trip is also a special process that contains excitement, anticipation, and experiences, but in the course of solving various issues it becomes easier and more interesting, you immerse yourself in the process and start to enjoy it. The emotions that I will get from the trip of this program prompted me to choose it and make an important decision for myself. During this trip, you can get new vivid sensations that add color to life. Such a trip provides many opportunities, one of which is meeting new and interesting people. Since America is considered a country of immigrants, here you will be able to get to know representatives of different nationalities, their culture and mentality. Dating data involves the exchange of life experiences, stories, advice and much more. Having talked with quite different people, you can learn a lot of new things, consider new views on the lives of other people of various cultures. By communicating with a large number of people, you will be able to learn a lot of new and interesting information that may be of some benefit in the future. Sharing life experiences helps people discover new aspects of life. Communicating with different personalities that you will meet, you will hear a large number of thoughts and views, so your horizons will expand significantly and your thinking will reach a new level. An important element of this program is also that you can improve your spoken English and its understanding. No matter how much we are taught English in educational institutions, it is much better to learn the language in practice. Usually in life the language can be a little different from what we were taught, as we are taught more formally. Undoubtedly America is the developed country of the world, but Tajikistan should be one of the most attractive countries of the world in future. I wish to begin the compositions with the description of Soviet times. I sit much and I talk to people of the old generation, and they compare much and argue on how there was a life in the Soviet Union and what it became now. And when I said to them that I wish to go to the USA under program Work and Travel, they willingly recollected how they spent the vacation in student's building groups, and it gave the chance to them to go in other cities of the former Soviet Union. It certainly gave them the chance to study culture, traditions, and customs of other people. But it is necessary to tell, that they had rare possibilities and the moments to go out of Soviet Union. The Center of the International exchange was created in Soviet time, In 1989. I think, the program has opened different world for young generation. It is the program for those who thirst to expand their outlook. This program gives the chance to meet western culture, especially American, with which we are familiar on films, under stories of others. But it gives us possibility of personal meeting with people, dialogue, and work with them. Undoubtedly America is the developed country of the world. However what is secret of its success? May be they have more favorable nature? May be it depends of nature of people who live there? And there can be a secret of their prosperity in their aspiration to freedom when each person has possibility to realize? These and other questions always excited me, and I consider, that if I would get to America I would try to answer to these questions by all means. However my dream does not consist in remaining there, by no means. But I know, already today, that I wish to be the diplomat. Whom I would not become, I wish to see my country developed, attractive as America. All is learnt in comparison. Tajikistan became recently, the Independent country. It is necessary to make much that it became independent in literal sense of this word, has got economic, power and food independence. On what the future of Tajikistan depends? It is better to tell from whom the future of Tajikistan depends? Definitely I can tell from youth. How it should be youth? The youth should have the purpose before him/her The youth should aspire to knowledge. Youth should love the native land. But he/she also should be opened for perception of values of other cultures, to study experience of other countries, and to be able to apply this experience in the homeland. Only in this way each one can bring the mite in development of the country. Everyone think of the future, wishes to get good education. When I have learnt for the first time about this program, I have understood that it was for me. It became a surprise for me. Because I wished to continue the study abroad. This program could help to carry out to me my dream. I will have possibility to meet my contemporaries from the different countries, Eastern and Western, with their culture, psychology, with their attitude to a life and many other things. Many foreigners have no idea about Tajikistan, and as I am Tajik I could tell them about our culture, our traditions and customs. I wished to become the diplomat and as the future diplomat should find with all common language. For the diplomat it is necessary to know languages, history of the people and to possess leader’s skills and the main thing to form in him ability to understand others, and for this purpose it is necessary to study others. I am assured that program Work and Travel can become a starting stage for my Education and the future Career. And How I see 2009 for the International an exchange centre .
