Σχετικά με τον προορισμό

Museum Five Continents houses Munich's public collection of non-European cultural heritage and artworks.

The institution displays non-European artworks and material culture rather than classical continental painting or local Bavarian crafts. Curators organise the galleries around historical artifacts and everyday objects from across several global regions. Long-term residents researching international traditions find a specialised archive that diverges sharply from the city's royal and court-centred historical collections.

The institution operated under the title Bavarian State Museum of Ethnology before adopting its present name. Municipal archives, older academic literature, and city maps often retain the historical designation, which confuses newcomers searching local databases. Researchers cross-reference both titles when requesting access, checking archival records, or tracing ethnographic holdings across Munich.
