Über den Ort

The stadium hosts Viking FK fixtures on municipal ground donated to replace the historic city sports ground.

The stadium hosts Viking FK for domestic football fixtures after replacing the older Stavanger Stadion as the primary club arena. Corporate naming rights account for the Lyse title, while followers still identify the grounds as Viking Stadion. Local authorities backed construction directly by gifting the parcel of land alongside civic funds to establish a modern municipal home for top-tier matches.

Club officials shifted professional football operations away from the older Stavanger Stadion into this purpose-built arena. Supporters access the facility for Viking FK league games, while the commercial title reflects long-term corporate backing rather than municipal heritage. On match days, spectator traffic dictates movement throughout the immediate district until crowds disperse post-game.
