Über den Ort

Military aviation anchors air operations directly within the urban boundaries of Maseru.

Mejametalana Airport operates as a dedicated military aviation facility in the capital city. The airfield handled primary civilian traffic for the urban centre before international transport shifted to newer facilities. Defense authorities control the installation, keeping the airfield active for administrative and state flights.

Commercial aviation passengers bypass this central runway and land at Moshoeshoe I International Airport in Mazenod. Shifting passenger services outside the metropolitan boundary reduced flight noise in central residential quarters while requiring travelers to organize ground transport along the southeastern road corridor.
