Məkan haqqında

Sirkeci terminal anchors the historic peninsula as the transit junction linking European rail networks with Bosporus ferries.

The terminal stands on the historic peninsula beside the Golden Horn, northwest of Gülhane Park and the palace gardens of Topkapı. Ottoman authorities planned the Rumeli Railroad after the Crimean War to link the capital with Europe. Sultan Abdülaziz permitted tracks along the Marmara shoreline to bring trains directly to the commercial district rather than terminating far west.

Beneath the original terminus, the underground Marmaray line carries suburban trains through a tunnel under the Bosporus to the Asian shore. Surface connections integrate the modern tram, buses, suburban rail to Halkalı, and ferry slips serving Kadıköy, Üsküdar, and Harem. Commuters living nearby rely on this hub to bypass strait bridge traffic during rush hours.
